VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, AUGUST 30, 2001 -- Leading Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ:LBIX) is pleased to announce that it has engaged Strategic Growth International, Inc. ("SGI"), a financial public relations firm, headquartered in Great Neck, New York. Strategic Growth will assist LBIX in broadening its market presence with the investment community and the financial media.

Founded by Stanley Altschuler and Richard Cooper, two long-time Wall Street veterans. SGI specialize in providing various investor relations services to publicly traded growth companies throughout the world.
